Nothing beats Groningen

Groningen

A day of shopping, strolling through picturesque streets or soaking up culture? The city of Groningen is nearby. So close, in fact, that you can see the skyline across the Leekstermeer. By car, it takes half an hour to get to the centre.

Would you rather take the bike? Then you're an hour away. It's worth it though, because you'll cycle through the beautiful nature of the Onlanden. Groningen has a rich tradition in market trade and market stalls regularly pop up in every town in the province. The youngest city in the Netherlands has a long and turbulent history, which can be seen in its historic warehouses, courtyards and buildings. A city walk is therefore highly recommended!

An extrovert and multicolored structure in the water opposite the main train station. This is the museum for art, design and art history with a diverse collection and occasionally quite stimulating exhibitions.

Martinitoren

Martinitoren

The Martini Tower, at almost 97 meters, is the tallest tower in the city of Groningen. Not afraid of heights? Then climb the Martinitoren. Tickets for this are available at VVV Groningen.

Groninger Forum

Groninger Forum

In the heart of the inner city, the Groninger Forum recently stood. The striking building, whose sharp lines stand out against the historic city center, is 45 meters high and has 10 floors. It is a meeting place for everyone curious about the world of today and the possibilities of the future.
